How to use a Deep Fryer for Chicken

If you are going to prepare Fried Chicken and are wondering how to use a deep fryer for chicken, then you are in the right place. This article will guide you how to make amazing Fried Chicken using Deep fryer with a very simple and amazing recipe. so, let’s get on with ingredients

  • Get two large eggs
  • 1/4 cup water (63 ml)
  • 1/2 cup hot sauce (125 ML). You can also use butter milk instead of hot sauce.
  • Grab a whisker and whisk all this together.  Don’t worry about chicken being too hot, it’s not going to be hot but you will get a nice little flavor to the chicken
  • Add, ½ teaspoon garlic powder (2.5 ml)
  • Then add ½ teaspoon of salt (2.5 ml)
  • Then add ½ teaspoon of black pepper (2.5 ml)

Now mix all this together

Now start getting the chicken in there, you can use any part of the chicken. Naturally people like drumsticks very much to it is preferable to use them to make your recipe.

Above mixture can take around 7 drumsticks. Use tong to roll all drumstick in the mixture and make sure that all of them are covered with it. Put them to rest for 15 minutes, cover them with some plastic or any other available wrap and marinate them for around half an hour. If you are not in a rush, then it will be good if you can leave the chicken in the fridge and marinate it for two or three hours.

If you are in a rush you can marinate the chicken for minimum half an hour, but you should go for at least an hour.

  • 1 cup all purpose flour (250 ml or 150 grams)
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder (10 ml/10 grams)
  • ½ teaspoon of garlic powder (2.5 ml)
  • ½ teaspoon of salt (2.5 ml)
  • ½ teaspoon of black pepper (2.5 ml)

You can also add spices to enhance your flavors. Mix all of this together using a spoon

Now take out the chicken from fridge and one by one take the drumstick out, shake them a little so that excessive mixture goes off from chicken and put them into the flour we prepared just a while ago. Use a fork to roll the chicken in the flour. Make sure that you cover the chicken very well with the flour. If you need to use your fingers, then don’t be shy and use them without hesitation. You will see that the flour is making nice coating on the chicken. Take out the drumstick from flour and put them on a rack or trey. Using the rack is advisable as the chicken may stick to the trey.  Repeat the same procedure for all the remaining drumsticks.

When you finish with all of your chicken then head towards the deep fryer. We will be using peanut oil in this recipe; we find peanut oil really good with the fried chicken.

You need to preheat your oil at 350 Fahrenheit or 180 Centigrade. You don’t need to go over that temperature, otherwise you will risk your food to burn in such high temperature.

If you deep fryer comes with the basket then take the basket out from the basin or tank and put your flour coated drumstick one by one into the basket using tong. Make sure that you do this nice and gentle as the coating may come off the chicken if you do this roughly. If your fryer doesn’t have basket then you need to put the drumsticks directly into the oil, make sure to do this with all the safety precautions. If you have medium size deep fryer then don’t put more than 4 drumsticks into the basket as it will overload your oil. Once the chicken is ready to put in the oil, release the basket gently in the oil for 10 minutes. Make sure to use any alarm clock for 10 minutes reminder.

Around 10 minutes, you will see that the chicken gets nice and crispy golden-brown texture. Once the time is up then take the basket out from the oil. Put them for some seconds over the oil so that all the excessive oil drains out from the chicken and basket. Use kitchen towel or paper towels in the bowl and put all the drumstick over there. This paper towel will absorb the remaining oil from the drumsticks. This time, the chicken will be extremely hot so Do not touch the chicken with your hands or try to eat them right out of the fryer, otherwise, you will burn yourself.

Let them sit for around 3 to 5 minutes and in the meantime, you can process the remaining non fried chicken. Once you are done with all the chicken then turn off the deep fryer. Put all the chicken drumsticks together. You will see that how good the fried chicken looks after frying in the deep fryer. They smell amazing.
